What does a merchant lead mean for your high-risk brokerage?

Our leads are merchant-service inquiries you work through your own qualification and placement process. They are not live transfers, appointments, inbound calls or pay-per-call purchases. An inquiry gives you a starting point for a conversation; it does not establish that a processor will accept the business.

For a high-risk broker, the useful question is not simply whether the merchant wants processing. You need to determine whether its products, sales practices, delivery cycle and processing history fit a realistic placement route. We do not promise approval or claim that a particular provider accepts every merchant in a vertical. Keep placement decisions separate from lead selection.

How do our campaigns collect inquiries and disclose contact consent?

We attract merchant inquiries through our own paid Facebook and Google campaigns. Our campaigns display this consent disclosure:

“By submitting, you agree that MerchantCardLeads and its partner payment-processing providers may contact you by phone, text and email about merchant services, including via automated technology. Consent is not a condition of purchase.”

New campaign leads carry the captured consent text, timestamp and source page in dashboard, email and webhook delivery. Preserve that evidence alongside your outreach history, especially when more than one broker or placement specialist handles an inquiry.

You are responsible for TCPA and DNC rules in your own outreach. Do not treat an aged purchase as renewed consent or assume every older inquiry carries the current campaign disclosure. Your opt-in for buyer SMS alerts is separate from a merchant’s contact consent.

What do exclusive, shared and aged leads cost your brokerage?

Our shared leads cost $25 and are shared with up to three buyers. Exclusive leads cost $45. Fresh exclusivity does not prohibit later disclosed aged resale, so distinguish the initial purchase arrangement from the lead’s longer-term resale terms. Pricing can vary for high-risk and high-volume leads.

Aged pricing is $6 for 1–30 days, $3 for 31–90 days, $1.50 for 91–180 days and $0.75 for 180+ days. The minimum aged order is 25 leads. Aged leads can be sold up to five times.

Choose around your qualification capacity. Shared inquiries suit brokers prepared to compete on responsiveness and informed discovery. Exclusive inquiries can support more concentrated early attention. Aged inquiries require a requalification approach: the merchant’s processing status, needs and business model may have changed.

Which filters help align purchases with processor risk appetite?

Use the high-risk include, exclude or only choice to set the scope of your purchase. Include supports a mixed pipeline; exclude keeps high-risk inquiries out of that selection; only focuses your buying on high-risk opportunities. Pair your selection with vertical, geography and processing-volume criteria relevant to your placement routes.

Before buying, create a processor appetite checklist for your team. Separate acceptable verticals from restricted products, fulfillment limits, recurring-billing concerns and geographic restrictions. A broad industry label alone is not enough to establish fit.

Treat chargeback history, delivery timing and document readiness as discovery priorities rather than facts implied by a filter. We do not promise that every merchant detail is available before purchase. Your first conversation should resolve the gaps that could block placement.

How should you qualify fulfillment, chargebacks and documentation before submission?

Start with the exact product or service, sales channels, customer locations and reason the merchant needs a new processing relationship. Clarify whether the business is launching, replacing an account or adding capacity. Ask about prior terminations and unresolved processing problems without assuming the inquiry proves either.

Next, establish when customers pay and when delivery occurs. Discuss subscriptions, advance purchases, refund practices and cancellations. Review chargeback patterns and the merchant’s explanation of their causes, not just a single headline ratio.

Request the documentation your intended processor requires through an appropriate secure process. That may include processing statements, ownership information, business credentials and fulfillment evidence. Check readiness before investing in a full submission. Give each inquiry a clear next action: request documents, assess another placement route or close the opportunity when no suitable route exists.

Which independent delivery channels fit a broker’s placement process?

Use our dashboard, email and webhook delivery as independent channels for your operating routine. The dashboard supports direct review; email fits a broker-managed queue; webhook delivery supports routing into your own CRM or assignment process. Choose the combination your team can monitor consistently.

Assign one outreach owner even when several placement specialists advise on the case. Keep the merchant’s consent evidence, qualification notes and processor discussions connected so parallel reviews do not become duplicate calls.

Separate lead receipt from underwriting readiness in your CRM. Useful stages include awaiting discovery, awaiting documents, placement review and submitted. An incoming inquiry should not automatically enter your submitted pipeline merely because it matches a high-risk category.

What can you return when a merchant cannot be placed?

Review purchases promptly and raise return requests within our 72-hour window. For aged leads, the returnable reason is a bad phone number. A merchant declining your offer, lacking documents or falling outside your processor’s appetite is not an aged-lead return reason.

Do not use a return process as a substitute for placement qualification. An accurate inquiry can still involve a business your current processor relationships cannot serve. Document the specific issue when you request a review, and distinguish an unusable phone number from a merchant who has not answered yet.

Protect your budget by narrowing purchases before scaling, rather than assuming underwriting declines make inquiries returnable.

How can you model broker economics without treating assumptions as results?

Use this explicitly hypothetical calculation: 100 leads × 5% assumed close rate × $100 assumed monthly residual = $500 in monthly residual. At our confirmed $25 shared price, 100 leads cost $2,500. This illustration uses the standard shared price rather than a high-risk price variation.

Annualizing $500 over 12 months produces $6,000, assuming every account remains active throughout that period. The calculation excludes attrition, costs, processing approvals, time to activation and commissions; lead spend is shown separately. It is not a profit calculation.

These are editable assumptions, not results or forecasts. For high-risk placement, keep inquiry qualification, submission, approval and activation separate in your planning. A hypothetical close rate does not establish that any merchant will pass underwriting.

How do you start without a contract or an oversized qualification queue?

We offer Starter at $250, Growth at $500 and Scale at $1,000, with custom packs starting at $250. There are no contracts, and you can pause anytime. Choose a budget your team can support with timely discovery and document follow-up.

Begin with a defined vertical, a high-risk selection and a written appetite checklist. Decide who owns outreach, who evaluates placement options and which delivery channels will carry the inquiries. Review qualification outcomes before expanding into additional verticals or larger purchases.

What could a lead campaign return?

Hypothetical assumptions, not a forecast or platform results.

    Lead cost
    $2,500.00
    Expected accounts
    ≈ 5.0
    Monthly residual
    ≈ $500.00
    First-year net before other costs
    ≈ $3,500.00

100 leads × 5% assumed close rate × $100.00 monthly residual. Lead cost uses $25.00 per shared lead. Annual example assumes 12 months of active accounts; excludes attrition, implementation, commissions, other costs and time to activation. No approval or close-rate guarantee.

What should you know before contacting a merchant?

Our campaigns capture merchant inquiries with a disclosure naming MerchantCardLeads and partner payment-processing providers. New campaign leads include the captured consent text, timestamp and source page in your dashboard, email and webhook delivery. You are responsible for following TCPA and DNC rules in your own outreach.

By submitting, you agree that MerchantCardLeads and its partner payment-processing providers may contact you by phone, text and email about merchant services, including via automated technology. Consent is not a condition of purchase.

Buyer SMS alerts use a separate opt-in: “I agree to receive automated lead-alert text messages from MerchantCardLeads at this number. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase.”

    No contracts. Pause anytime.

Real-time return requests: within 72 hours. Approved returns become wallet credits; “already has a processor” is not a valid return reason. Aged returns: bad phone only.

What else do payments reps ask?

Does choosing high-risk only mean the merchant fits one of my processors?

No. That choice focuses your purchase on high-risk inquiries, not processor acceptance. You still need to assess the exact products, fulfillment timing, chargebacks and documentation against your processor’s current appetite.

Should I budget every high-risk shared inquiry at $25?

Our standard shared price is $25, but pricing can vary for high-risk and high-volume leads. Use the applicable purchase price for your budget rather than assuming the standard price applies to every selection.

Can my team treat an aged purchase as fresh permission for automated outreach?

No. Buying an aged inquiry does not renew merchant consent. Review the consent evidence associated with the inquiry and apply TCPA and DNC requirements to your outreach. Your buyer SMS alert opt-in is a separate permission.

How should we route merchants with long delivery cycles?

Have your outreach owner establish payment timing, expected fulfillment, cancellation terms and refund practices before routing for placement review. Match those facts to processor appetite, and request the relevant supporting documents before submission.
