An ecommerce merchant lead is an opportunity to discuss payment acceptance with an online seller—not a completed application or a processing commitment. Your qualification work should connect the merchant’s checkout experience with a payment solution your processor can support.
Start with the business model: physical goods, digital products, subscriptions or a combination. Then establish the card-not-present mix, typical ticket, monthly processing volume, fulfillment timing and countries served. A domestic seller shipping immediately presents different questions from a subscription brand charging before fulfillment. Use these distinctions to prioritize conversations rather than treating every online store as a rate-shopping opportunity.
Our paid Facebook and Google campaigns attract merchants exploring payment-processing services. Our own campaigns display this disclosure:
“By submitting, you agree that MerchantCardLeads and its partner payment-processing providers may contact you by phone, text and email about merchant services, including via automated technology. Consent is not a condition of purchase.”
New campaign leads carry the captured consent text, timestamp and source page in dashboard, email and webhook delivery. You are responsible for TCPA and DNC rules in your own outreach. Do not assume aged leads carry renewed consent or that every historical lead carries this campaign policy. Your opt-in for buyer SMS alerts is separate from merchant outreach consent.
Our shared leads cost $25 and are shared with up to three buyers. Exclusive leads cost $45 and suit buyers seeking a fresh opportunity without shared distribution. Fresh exclusivity does not prohibit later disclosed aged resale. Pricing can vary for high-risk or high-volume leads.
Aged pricing is $6 for 1–30 days, $3 for 31–90 days, $1.50 for 91–180 days and $0.75 beyond 180 days. Our aged ecommerce inventory currently contains 27 leads, with a minimum aged order of 25. Aged leads can be sold up to five times. Choose based on your tolerance for elapsed time, potential prior outreach and the effort needed to requalify the merchant’s current checkout needs.
Build your selection criteria around the merchants your acquiring relationships can actually support. Prioritize product category, processing volume, geography, recurring billing and the balance between domestic and cross-border sales. Distinguish a straightforward hosted storefront from a custom checkout that needs developer involvement.
Use available lead information to narrow your choices, then confirm the rest during discovery. Do not assume every opportunity includes a shopping-cart name, gateway history or chargeback ratio. For subscriptions, ask about trial offers and renewal intervals. For physical goods, ask about shipping delays and preorders. These details help you separate a realistic processing conversation from a poor operational fit.
Our dashboard, email and webhook delivery provide independent channels for accessing new campaign leads. You can use the dashboard for review, email for direct visibility and webhooks to support your own routing workflow. New campaign consent details accompany each of these channels.
For ecommerce prospects, organize your follow-up around the skills each opportunity may require. A custom gateway migration may need a technically experienced representative, while a standard shopping-cart discussion may fit your general sales queue. Keep ownership clear across channels so multiple members of your team do not approach the same seller with conflicting messages. Delivery is not a substitute for your outreach permissions or qualification process.
Ask which shopping cart and gateway the merchant uses, whether checkout is hosted or customized, and who controls technical changes. Establish whether the merchant wants a new processor, a new gateway or both; those are different projects with different dependencies.
Discuss supported payment methods, authorization and capture timing, refunds, reporting and settlement reconciliation. If stored payment credentials are involved, ask who controls the tokens and whether migration is supported before proposing a switch. Avoid promising a seamless move before reviewing compatibility. A useful opening question is: “Which part of accepting online payments creates the most work today—checkout failures, reconciliation, support or processing cost?”
For recurring sellers, ask how customers enroll, how renewal terms appear at checkout, how cancellations work and what happens after a declined renewal. Discuss account updater support, retry logic and token portability as capabilities to evaluate—not automatic features of every processing arrangement.
For fraud and disputes, ask about transaction screening, AVS and CVV handling, 3-D Secure use, order review and fulfillment evidence. Understand whether losses come from unauthorized purchases, delivery complaints or subscription misunderstandings. A merchant asking only for lower rates may have a larger operational problem. Position your proposal around the actual source of friction without promising that any tool eliminates fraud or chargebacks.
Our aged-lead return window is 72 hours, and the eligible reason is a bad phone number. Review your purchase promptly and raise an eligible issue within that window. A seller using an unsupported shopping cart, declining your offer or choosing to keep its processor is not the same as a bad phone number.
Keep lead-quality review separate from underwriting and sales qualification. A reachable ecommerce merchant can still fall outside your processor’s product restrictions or require an integration you cannot support. That is why your buying criteria should reflect your acquiring options before you purchase, especially when pursuing recurring billing or more complex online business models.
Our Starter, Growth and Scale packs are $250, $500 and $1,000, with custom packs starting at $250. We have no contracts, and you can pause anytime. Begin with a clear target: for example, domestic online sellers using a supported cart, or subscription businesses your processor can evaluate.
Assign an outreach owner, prepare gateway-specific questions and define what qualifies an opportunity for a processing review. Track purchases, outreach attempts, qualified discussions and boarded merchants separately so your spending decisions reflect actual results. For help organizing your purchase, contact our founder Chad Buchanan at (248) 686-6955. We sell leads—not live transfers, appointments, inbound calls or pay-per-call services.
When a seller says switching could break checkout, acknowledge the concern and ask about the current integration before discussing migration. Identify technical ownership, stored credentials, subscription schedules and any platform restrictions. Earn the next conversation through a practical compatibility review, not a promise of zero disruption.
If the objection is “our rates are already low,” ask whether declines, manual reconciliation or support delays create a reason to evaluate alternatives. If the merchant fears funding interruptions, discuss fulfillment patterns and underwriting requirements without promising approval or settlement terms. Sometimes the right outcome is to recognize that your offering does not solve the merchant’s current problem.
Our owned merchant-services sites and campaigns attract business owners searching for processing quotes, savings reviews and provider comparisons. New campaign inquiries are inbound and include partner-contact consent. Historical aged leads retain their original source and consent evidence; they are not new inquiries.

Buyer SMS alerts use a separate opt-in: “I agree to receive automated lead-alert text messages from MerchantCardLeads at this number. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase.”
No contracts. Pause anytime.
Real-time return requests: within 72 hours. Approved returns become wallet credits; “already has a processor” is not a valid return reason. Aged returns: bad phone only.

No. Ask about platform restrictions, gateway compatibility and any custom checkout work. We recommend confirming the supported processing options before you propose a switch.
Ask who controls the stored credentials, which gateway holds them and whether migration is supported. You should also understand renewal timing and cancellation workflows before outlining a transition.
Preorders create a gap between payment and fulfillment. Ask about delivery timelines, refund practices and customer communications, then assess the model against your processor’s underwriting requirements.
First distinguish issuer declines, gateway errors and fraud-rule rejections. We recommend identifying the cause before positioning a tool, because stricter screening can address one problem while adding checkout friction.
